Individual therapy sessions are $200 for a 60 minute session. I offer a sliding scale for clients who need it. I also offer a free initial consultation so we can talk about what's going on and whether we're a good fit before you commit to anything.

No. MSH Psychotherapy, PLLC is a self pay practice. I do not accept insurance or bill insurance companies directly. However, if your plan includes out of network mental health benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement. I partner with Mentaya to handle claims on your behalf so you never have to deal with superbills or insurance paperwork. A 5% processing fee per claim applies and is paid by the client. Participation is completely optional.

We start with a free consultation, which is a brief conversation to talk about what's bringing you to therapy and to see if we're a good fit. If we decide to move forward, I'll send you intake paperwork through the client portal, and we'll schedule your first full session. That session focuses on getting a clear picture of what's going on, your history, and what you want to get out of therapy.

Yes. I offer secure video sessions for anyone located in Texas. Telehealth sessions work the same as in person sessions. Many clients choose telehealth exclusively, and others go back and forth depending on the week.

This is therapy designed to help you get the most out of a psychedelic experience, whether it's upcoming or has already happened. Preparation focuses on setting intentions, addressing fears, and building psychological readiness. Integration focuses on processing what came up and carrying those insights into your daily life. I do not administer, facilitate, or supervise any dosing sessions. You can read more on the Psychedelic Preparation and Integration page.

No. Psychedelic preparation and integration is one of my specializations, but most of my clients come in for general therapy: anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, assertiveness, grief, life transitions, and more.

Most clients start with weekly sessions. As things progress, some shift to every other week. We figure out what makes sense together based on where you are and what you're working on.
-
It depends on what you're working on. Some clients come for a few months to work through something specific. Others stay longer to address deeper patterns. I don't believe in keeping people in therapy longer than they need to be.
-
No. As a psychologist, I provide therapy and psychological assessment but do not prescribe medication. If medication might be helpful, I can coordinate with a psychiatrist or your primary care provider.

No. Men's issues is one of my clinical specializations, meaning I have specific training and experience helping men navigate identity, purpose, emotional life, and masculinity. But I work with adults of all genders. If what I offer resonates with you, you're welcome here.

Psychological assessment is a structured, time limited process that uses validated psychological instruments to answer specific questions about how you think, feel, and relate to others. It is different from therapy. Assessment has a defined beginning, middle, and end, and results in a written report with individualized findings and recommendations.
-
Assessment is billed at $200 per hour based on clinician time. A focused assessment typically costs between $1,000 and $1,500. A comprehensive assessment typically costs between $2,000 and $3,000. The exact scope and cost are determined during the initial consultation, and you will receive an itemized Good Faith Estimate before testing begins.
